About Us

In 1970 Pozolana Indústria e Comércio Ltda was founded by Mr. Aryovaldo Búrigo, with the objective of selling fly ash originating from coal burning from Complexo Termelétrico Jorge Lacerda. At this time the ash was manually bagged in 50 kg bags and distributed to customers in Pozolana. Studies on this product, also known to "fly-ash" led Mr. Aryovaldo Búrigo to research a cement that was produced overseas. This cement, called Portland Pozolânico, had in its composition the same gray that Pozzolana already marketed. In July 1976 it opened a new factory in Pozolana, in the same place that works until the present day.

In 1984, the company initiated the production of Cement Pozosul, where the dosage and the equipment were manual, getting to produce 20,000 bags per month. In 1988 improvements were made in the process of manufacturing the product, where Pozolana affects the production of 60,000 bags per month.

At the end of 1992 ws initiated major changes in the industrial area of Pozolana, with investments in milling and dosage and change the production process, making the company increase the monthly production to 100,000 bags.

In May 1993 the founder of Pozolana died, Mr. Aryovaldo Burigo, not able to visualize the resuls of the investments made in the previous year.

With the death of the founder and director of Pozolana, the direction of the company was taken over by his wife, Marcy de Maria Carvalho Búrigo, his children, Marcio Búrigo e Cristiane Búrigo Tavares, and Cristiane’s son, Eduardo Alexandre Tavares

With the new direction, the administration of Pozolana underwent a major overhaul, more focused on their human resources and quality assurance for Cement Pozosul.

In 1999 we conducted a project for a major modernization of the factory where the process of dispensing would be gravity, thus replacing the process volumetric dosing and mixing with fully automated, optimizing the process further and increasing the reliability of it.

In January 2000 the first tests with the new process of dispensing and mixing were carried out with complete success, reducing losses of raw materials and increasing the reliability of the process, where the quality assurance of Cement Pozosul started to make a difference.

Driven by the positive result of the company and with a vision for the future and quality of life of its employees and the community, even in 2000, were held and executed two more projects. Bag filters were installed with different points of capturing dust, with the goal of reducing the emission level of dust in the atmosphere. System fully approved by the environmental state of Santa Catarina, FATMA. And, aiming to provide greater comfort and convenience to motorists who make the delivery of Cement Pozosul, was built a house the drivers. A waiting area and rest for drivers while they await the time of loading, cafeteria, bathrooms, television and leafy courtyard.

In June 2004 investments in the bagging area were conducted. A new automated packer was placed into operation in order to optimize the process of bagging and improve control over it, ensuring even more the weight of sacks of cement, 50kg and 25kg.
