The history of COMIL since its origin was marked by the courage of two families - Corradi and Mascarello - in a bid to great boldness acquired at auction in 1985, the old factory Incasel bodies, located in Erechim in the northern state of Rio Grande do Sul The activities started in 1986 with 58 employees in 5 thousand square meters of the original premises of the former factory. In the first month, production was only one car, and at the end of the first year, 166 units were delivered. During this period, COMIL opted to continue production of the models that were manufactured by Incasel, both urban line as road. In 1987, with the construction of the new factory in the industrial district Erechim, where it is located today, the COMIL initiated the development of its first models of buses. Since then, the company has not stopped growing. In 1991 appeared the first international customer, and COMIL started exporting to Argentina and Chile. Over its 26 years of operation, the company was renewed on several fronts. One was the construction of the production line of PCs in 1999. Another major landmark innovation was the installation of the parts manufacturing sector within the factory itself.The achievements did not stop there. In 2004, road line of COMIL established itself as champion of growth. Approximately 200 units of the model Campione were exported to the Middle East, one of the regions has one of the biggest potential purchase of buses in the world. In 2006, COMIL consolidated the supremacy of its road to launch Campione HD 4:05, offering the latest in design, technology and comfort. Currently, the production reaches 20 buses / day. More than 2800 employees in an industrial park of 35 thousand square meters. With a complete line of intercity bus, intercity, urban, midis and micros, the COMIL is present on the streets and roads of more than 30 countries, producing buses in some measure for their customers.
