Incremental encoders have two signal outputs A and B because the incremental encoder has two coils of trunking staggered at an angle on the disc, which will cause the two letters of the photodetector output to differ by 1/4 period (90°). The specific working mode of the code disk is shown in the following figure. When the disc rotates, the trunking of the inner ring and the outer ring will pass through the light in turn, and the photoelectric detection device detects the change in the light on-off, and will output the pulse signal accordingly, because there is a time difference between the inner and outer ring shading and light transmission, so there is also the phase difference between the A and B channel signals.
