Frigol

In 1970, Mr. Luiz Gonzaga de Oliveira moved from the town of Avaré to Lençóis Paulista together with his wife and their nine children. In an entrepreneurial attitude, Luiz traded his old truck for a butcher shop in downtown Lençóis Paulista, where he began to work with three of his children. After eight years of hard work, the Gonzaga de Oliveira family had already bought other 5 butcher shops.

In 1987 the brothers Djalma, Dorival, Durval and Décio teamed up and built the frigorific Santo Expedito, specifically focusing on pork slaughter. In 1992, Mr. Benedito de Oliveira joined the Gonzaga de Oliveira brothers. That same year, the family leased the facilities of the Frigorifico Lençóis, and the company has been called Frigol so on. The name is an abbreviation of Frigorific Gonzaga de Oliveira, with its core business being the slaughter of bovine and the processing of meat.

After years in full operation, the Frigol Gropup went through renovations and increased its slaughter capacity from 100 to 1,200 head of cattle per day. The growth and determination of the directors of the Group Frigol went even further: in 2007 Frigol started up the construction of a brand new frigorific unit in Pará State.

Always working to reach market needs and keeping a smart vision of the future, Frigol Group invests in meat processing technologies, producing special cuts, offering matured and seasoned beef, and building up a wide distribution range all over Brazil.

All the care and dedication in meat production led Frigol to open its doors to the international market. The company is currently a major exporter of beef products, and such sales abroad are constantly expanding.
