Murumurú Butter is extracted from the almond of the murumuzeiro fruit seed, a common species throughout the Amazon basin.
Murumuru oil (Astrocaryum murumuru Mart, Bolivia 'chonta', 'chontaloro', 'pani' or 'schibo', Brazil 'murumuru', Colombia 'chechana, 'totose', Ecuador 'Huiango', 'Unan', Venezuela 'Orocori') is obtained by pressing seeds or almonds in raw or expelling presses, with the need for preliminary grinding, with strong and resistant disc mills, due to the hardness of the material. The yield of pressings rarely exceeds 34%

Applications of Murumurú Butter
Murumuru butter is used in lotions, creams, hair conditioning soaps, face masks, shampoo, oils and emulsions, skin moisturizer, hair nutrition products and restoration of damaged hair, depilatory waxes. It may be indicated for use in other products such as: combing cream (curly hair), makeup, post-depilatory cream.
