Physicochemical properties
1. Trisodium citrate dihydrate is stable in air at room temperature, loses crystal water when heated to 150 °C, and decomposes if it continues to be heated. Insoluble in ethanol, soluble in water, 5% aqueous solution pH 7.6~8.6. Soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol and ether. Lose two crystals of water at 150 °C.
2. It has excellent solubility and decomposition properties, and the solubility increases with the increase of water temperature. It has good pH adjustment and cushioning performance. Sodium citrate is a weak acid and strong alkali salt, which can be combined with citric acid to form a strong pH buffer, so it has its important use in some occasions that are not suitable for large-scale pH changes. In addition, sodium citrate also has excellent retarding performance and stability performance.
