ItaBrasil was founded by José Maria de Oliveira to meet the growing market in the field of apiculture (beekeeping). After several years of experience working with bees, José saw the need to broaden his research, in order to understand and serve the growing interest within other countries in the propolis produced in the region (Itapecerica - Minas Gerais - Brazil).
As a result of this initiative ItaBrasil was formed and is now responsible for 3,000 beehives and considered in research conducted by Japanese experts, to be the best propolis in the world.
We work with all grades of propolis, ranging from those of superior quality (Extra Green, First, and Second) to intermediate quality (Third, Resin, Scraping, and Powder). Every product that we have is stamped with the Brazilian Federal Inspection System (SIF) seal.
The extract of green propolis brings several benefits to human health. It is used as a powerful natural antibiotic for the treatment of inflammation, amygdalate and colds. It also serves as a raw material in the fabrication of sweets, tablets and sprays, among other things.
The organisations current infrastructure comprises a team of 38 employees manufacturing wooden hives, harvesting and transporting the propolis to the laboratories, for cleaning, sorting and packaging.
