About Us

I started modeling at the age of five, clay sculptures, I saw in the windows beautiful dolls who dreamed of winning, but my father could not buy because they could not afford; Near my house had a very good modeling clay, I sat there and modeled my dolls from little I was interested in the history of slaves and that was when I came to live in the city I found the two slaves Maria Conga and philo.
I researched the city's history and discover the life of Maria Conga and philo who invented the polenta tart. They lived in the eighteenth century farm Gates, I became interested much by their history, way of life and it was from there that I started to create my sculptures.
What motivates me in my art is to see the clay turn into sculptures. It's exciting how I modeling as my imagination and after seeing the simple clay turning pieces.
And what makes my product unique is that they can only be made by my hands. All products can be made in various sizes and models. The pieces MARIA CONGA and Philo are considered Historical and Cultural Heritage of the city.
My manufacturing process begins - with modeling. My clay is stored in its own drum, I take the amount needed to shape the piece, this entire process is manual. After the finished part it goes on the shelf to dry which is always a shadow; the time they get depends on the size of the pieces, usually goes around eight days for more. The next step is to burn the pieces, I usually fill the whole oven parts, because they are burning around two days or more, as this process may not be fast because it is the step that gives quality to the pieces. They burn to turn coal into the furnace and also only after cool is that they are removed from the oven not to run the risk of crack with the wind. Next step is to clean after they are removed from the oven, then is the painting. painting is made in the whole piece. Finally is given the finishing paint; only to then be stored.
My sculptures, after all this process, are sold, are exhibited in museums, and published in Brazil and abroad.
