Applications:<br />
1. It can be used as pharmaceutical, pesticide intermediates, biochemical reagents, and organic synthesis reagents. <br />
2. The product is a good solvent for many organic compounds. Upon combination with carbon disulfide, it can dissolve protein. It is also a good solvent for the organic reaction which allows obtaining certain results which are difficult in the cases of application of common solvents. For example, when quinolone is being catalyzed for hydrogenation in a common solvent, the pyridine ring is preferentially hydrogenated; in contrast, the benzene ring will be preferentially hydrogenated in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid as the solvent. Trifluoroacetic acid can also be used for the synthesis of fluorine-containing compounds, pesticides and dyes, and it is also the catalyst for esterification and condensation reactions; it can also used as the protection agent for hydroxy group and amino group. It can also be used in the synthesis of sugars and peptides. Also used as a dressing agent. <br />
3. It can be used as fine intermediates, mainly used for the synthesis of fluorinated pharmaceuticals, pesticides and dyes. It may also be used as raw material for the glass coating process. Moreover, it is the catalyst for esterification and condensation reactions and the protection agent for hydroxy group and amino group used for synthesis of carbohydrate of sugar and polypeptides. <br />
