The meal produced from soybeans is the most used in animal nutrition. It is rich in crude protein contents, and together with the high protein value, holds an excellent amino acid balance, being considered as the most appropriate vegetable protein supplement available. Soybean meal is an important ingredient in the composition of feed for aviculture, pig and beef cattle and milk. The composition of soybean meal has 46% crude protein, 80% soluble protein, 6% fiber and 2.5% oil. With this high protein content, it guarantees the correct formulation of diets and large-scale animal supplementation, with high performance in the conversion of protein for weight gain of animals. Of every 1,000 kg of processed soybeans, 750 kg of soybean meal is extracted.

Brazil is the second country in the world's production and processing of soybeans, being also the second largest exporter of soybean meal. Currently, 48% of Brazilian soybean meal production is exported.
