Arabica Coffee

The Mundo Novo Arabica Coffee is the result of a natural cross between the Sumatra and Red Bourbon cultivars, found in Mineiros do Tietê, São Paulo. The seeds of these coffee plants were planted in Mundo Novo, now Urupês (SP), where rigorous selections were made between 1943 and 1952 to eliminate defects in the population. These selections led to the creation of the Mundo Novo cultivar, which was distributed to farmers from 1952 and improved by the IAC since 1977.
