Nice to meet you! We are 4 Elementos Indústria Alimentícia—or simply, Whaka! But why "Whaka"? The word originates from New Zealand, more specifically from the Māori language, and its meaning represents the very essence of our brand: Natural!
The company was founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Sérgio Ricco, who has been producing açaí and superfruit-based products since 1997. With over two decades of consolidated expertise in both raw materials and finished goods, Whaka is always at the forefront of global and Brazilian innovation and consumer trends.
Our headquarters is located in Barueri, São Paulo, where we currently have a production capacity of 2,400 liters of finished product per hour. In July 2018, we launched our proprietary distribution operations in Florida to supply the Food Service and Retail sectors, while also streamlining our exports to other countries.
Furthermore, we are in the advanced stages of building our second facility, scheduled to open in early 2019. Strategically located on the border between the states of Pará and Maranhão, this new plant will have a production capacity of 2,000 liters of finished product per hour, process over 30 tons of raw material daily, and boast a storage capacity of 2,000 tons. This expansion aims to meet the high demand in Brazil's North and Northeast regions. It will also boost distribution to the major retail chains where our products are already available—such as Grupo Pão de Açúcar, Grupo BIG, Carrefour, Bistek, Angeloni, Mercadinhos São Luiz, St Marche, Giga Atacadista, and Fort Atacadista—as well as supplying industrial partners who purchase our açaí pulp in bulk bars or drums.
