Gramarcal began operations in Curitiba, in December 1985, founded by Manoel Antonio Soares de Azevedo. Initially, the company supplied only the local quarries. Gradually been expanding its business into the interior of Paraná, to build up throughout the South Region, which concentrates today sales of the marble and limestone segment and includes also the southern region of São Paulo.
In 1989, Gramarcal installed its sawmill in the town of Itapemirim (ES), this unit is responsible for supplying materials benefited from Espírito Santos, one of the largest producers of ornamental stones in Brazil.
