Beginning
From the dream of an entrepreneur, a family business was born with roots in the city of Guarabira, interior of Paraíba . Today Guaraves is one of the largest poultry industries of the northeast region of Brazil, recognized for its excellence in quality and respect for the environment and people, always with excellent results throughout its history.
Guaraves started in 1977, when at age 20 , Ivanildo Coutinho decided to invest in poultry. The family that has always worked with agriculture went to envision new investments in the poultry sector.
The ability for businesses made the production of Ivanildo grow, in the beginning using the structure of old sheds, which soon gave way to larger and more modern structures.
Growth
After the first ten years of establishment, Guaraves found the path of growth through partnerships with poultry units, a process already used in large enterprises, enabling higher production from the use of third-party infrastructure. In this partnership system, Guaraves provides the chick, medicine, feed and the supplies and technical assistance. On the other hand, the partner provides infrastructure and is responsible for creating and fattening the when then it is returned to Guaraves and the partner is paid by the job.
The second decade of the company has been marked as a watershed. The production of 40 000 chickens per week in 1990 jumped to 300,000 per week in 2000. In the same year, opened paths and partnered with farms of Rio Grande do Norte. In 10 years, the production doubled. With the formation of partnerships and the resulting increase poultry production, Guaraves invested in labs for doing chemical analyzes of feed produced to feed the chickens, which shows the company's concern with the quality.
In 2008 the company inaugurated the abattoir in Guarabira with the possibility of slaughtering 100,000 chickens per day, which led the company to act as distributor of the Bom Todo product. Nowadays, besides the distributor within the abattoir, the company has distributors in Parnamirim (RN) and Fortaleza (CE) plus several retail stores.
The expansion
With a history that began in 1978, Guaraves today has about 2,000 employees at its production units and sales spread through four Northeastern states: Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará and Piauí.
