About Us

In 2002 the biotechnology company Animal Reproduction In Vitro Brazil (IVB) was established to meet the growing in vitro’s market of bovine embryos production. The Corporate Headquarters were built in Fazenda São Francisco, in Mogi Mirim , São Paulo state, where it is located until today. At its foundation the Brazil In Vitro had 3 rural producer partners, Antonio Carlos Corner Son Port, Port Canto Joao Paulo and Carlos Viacava, as well as two veterinarian partners José Carlos Ereno Junior and Joseph Henry Strong Bridges that manage the entire process . Antonio Carlos partner’s influence was extremely important to the future of the company because it was through him that the Partnership and Meritocracy system was implemented, prevailing until today at the company.
At this time the IVF market in Brazil was entirely used for elite cattle and cut more precisely for Nellore. The technique presented some limitations such as the maximum 8 hour time for transport of the oocytes and embryos due to much instability in results. Some media such as maturation, which the expiry date can be over 60 days, were prepared daily before the field team leave for the farms.
In 2004 , IVB begin a partnership with ABS Pecplan for development of the use of sexed semen in IVF . Soon after, the CRV Lagoa also launched the sexed semen from bulls of its group . This technology came to be the major technical difference to  IVB increasing 180 % from 2013 to 2004. The use of sexed semen in IVF was the first technological differential between In Vitro and other companies.
In 2005, to meet the market of animal cloning, IVB made its first joint venture by partnering the worldwide leader in the segment , Cyagra. This partnership, in addition to meeting the market cloning , provided a technological exchange between the two companies also bringing improvements to the process of IVF . Today the company has produced and delivered more than 120 clones of cattle in the national market . It is important to remember that the first animals born from the vitrification technique were from clones and not from IVF .
In 2006, the company opened its first branch in Nerópolis , state of Goiás . The laboratory strengthened, showed efficient results, and later, was transferred to the state capital , Goiânia . Again the results obtained with sexed semen were the key to creating partnerships with local vets that enabled the emergence of the first subsidiary. The experience gained in both the opening and the routine of this subsidiary, reflect today on the results of our other subsidiaries and franchises. The entire process was made by the Veterinary Bruno Sanches , now a company partner  and responsible for all 30 laboratories of the group . It was at this time that the media started to be made fortnightly, once the strategy was established for the two laboratories could use the media made in the Matrix . This process has been kept the same until the present day.
In 2006, in partnership with UNIFEOB , we made the first lambs derivative from embryos produced in vitro. This technique has become one of the exclusive commercial activities of IVB until today. At that time, we got the technology from Turretfields Center in Adelaide, Australia .This new technology also helped  IVF cattle . It was in this center we learned the technology of transporting embryos a long distance, which permitted several large projects  to be later carried out by IVB . Currently, in vitro production of sheep and goat embryos serves different Brazilian states with rates that are higher than those reported in the literature.
In 2007, after three years of technological stagnation and growth , we decided to invest in research and in the hiring of skilled labor. In partnership with USP Pirassununga, we received the Post Doctoral student Christina Ramires Ferreira and hired Dr. Andrea Basso , today a partner and head of research and development group IVB . We got approval for a PIPE project FAPESP to study the expiry date of the culture media and the lipid composition of the embryos . The discovery that the media remained stable for more than 60 days , made possible the development of production testing before they are sent to laboratories pros while the lipid composition of embryos allowed the improvement of the embryos vitrification technology from IVF , another major technological differential from IVB group until the present day .
Also in the first half of 2007, we established a partnership with Cauembryo in Funilândia , Minas Gerais state, and inaugurated the second subsidiary of the company. In the second half of the year, in partnership with the breeder Ronald Carvalho, we opened a third subsidiary in Boa Vista , Barra do Pirai , Rio de Janeiro state . These laboratories , as well as the subsidiary in Goiania , were later turned into franchises  and managed by the local partners .
In August 2007, part of the company owned by the partners Carlos Viacava and John Paul Port was bought by Integralat. This company, owned by Parmalat group had a project to produce pregnancies in females breed of girolando in large scale. It meant a production of 10,000 pregnancies dairy cattle Gir toproduce milk through Integration system. Embryos were produced in São Paulo and Goiás  and used at large farms in the states of Pará , Goiás , Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso . We produce over 8,000 calves in a breeding season . This project was a great watershed in the company, because all the knowledge obtained could be used in several other projects undertaken by the IRB . After a year, Parmalat dropped out and we took the opportunity to buy the shares back. From that moment, we changed the company's direction focusing on projects of large production scale, considering we were before only focused on elite cattle.
In 2008 IVB started a membership system and technology supply inside and outside Brazil. The new project enabled other in vitro embryo laboratories to afford a special technological package guaranteed by IVB. The first affiliated laboratories was Embriotec in Anapolis-Go and CIBRe in Colombia. The CIBRe in Colombia represented the start of IVB group activity abroad. Currently the company has laboratories in all States in Brazil and in 12 different countries.
In 2010, IVB became a Corporation adding new professionals to the director's team. This year Bruno Valente Sanches, Rodrigo Untura, André Rigo and Lucas Moino became partners. Following the partnership system, where the best employees are invited to be partners, in 2012 was the turn of Antonio Nogueira Vieira, Juliana Tanura, e Andreia Guandeline, and in 2013 Emerson R Siqueira became partner. Through the commitment of the new partners and all the employees, the IVB group has shown a significant growth since 2007 becoming stronger as the largest company of in vitro embryo production in the world.
In 2011 the company bought 100% of Joint Venture Cyagra Brasil. The company merged with Fleury Animal Reproduction owned by Perla Fleury creating In Vitro Brazil Animal Cloning. This fusion was marked by the start of work with embryo collection, ICSI (technique correspond to IVF) and equine cloning. In 2012 the first cloning products were born, introducing Brazil among the few countries that dominate this technique. In 2013 Marc Maserati, an American biologist that has performed the cloning procedures since 2005 became a partner.
In 2012 In Vitro Brazil Group hit the mark of 203,000 bovine embryos, presenting in 12 different countries. Preliminary data indicates that IVB will produce 30% more in 2013 exceeding 266,000 embryos.
Following the Brazilian model of development, In Vitro Embryo production has been adopted on a large scale in other countries such as Uruguay, South Africa and Russia. IVB Group is proud of be part of this history.
