The company is located in Itabirito and joined the group VDL in 1994, the same year of its foundation. The VDL Steelmaking pig iron manufactures gray and ductile steel works, rolling stock, mechanical components, wear parts for crushers jaws and cloaks, ground engaging equipment for use on loaders, excavators, tractors, coatings and mill hammers, wear plates and several custom pieces.

Its production capacity is 7500 ton. / Month of pig iron and 500 tons. / Month of steel castings and machined benefited weighing up to 5000 kg. Also of great importance for the high productivity of the company highlights the hydroelectric plant.
