980nm 1470nm diode laser machine is commonly used for Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) of varicose veins. This type of laser emits light at two different wavelengths (980nm and 1470nm) to target and treat the affected vein. The laser energy is delivered through a thin fiber-optic cable inserted into the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and seal shut. This minimally invasive procedure offers a less painful and faster recovery compared to traditional surgical methods.

Laser wavelength 1470 is, at least, 5 times better absorbed by water and oxyhemoglobin than 980nm laser, allowing selective destruction of the vein, with less energy and reducing side effects.
As a water-specific laser, the TR1470nm laser targets water as the chromophore to absorb the laser energy. Since the vein structure is mostly water, it is theorized that the 1470 nm laser wavelength efficiently heats endothelial cells with a low risk of collateral damage, resulting in an optimal vein ablation.
