Description
The rosewood oil has a characteristics aroma and is a long-established ingredient used in perfumes, fragrances
and soaps. Linalool is their major constituent (80-90%) which can be transformed into various derivatives of
value to the flavor and fragrance industries.
Several countries in the region produced rosewood oil up until the 1950s but, thereafter, Brazil has been
the sole supplier to the market.
It is extracted from its leaves and branches sustainably and traded for the luxury perfume industry in the world, for
example Aromatics Elixir, Ungaro Pour Homme III, Sensi BY G. Armani fragrance, but became known
worldwide in the decade 20 of the last century, inserted in the formula Channel Nº5, conquering the international
market, after being popularized by Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom
